Jared Decker (University of Missouri): One of the real benefits of genomic testing is it allows us to have more reliable estimates of an animal’s genetic merit earlier in its lifetime. What this means is that we can use a younger bull earlier with more confidence. As we use those younger bulls, we’re able to shorten the generation interval and increase the rate of our genetic progress.
